Since Power Connect 3024 and Power Connect 5012 are managed switches, they come with a programmable IP address for management purposes.<\/p>\n<p>In this guide, we will discuss how to connect to a Dell Power Connect 3024, 3048, 5012, or 5224 switches with a web browser and also through a Telnet session and a serial null-modem cable.<\/p>\n<p>The Dell Power Connect 3024 and 5012 managed switches make use of an embedded web server that helps you manage tasks from MS Internet Explorer version 4.01 and higher versions or Netscape Navigator 6.0 and higher versions.<\/p>\n<p>A serial null-modem cable is the only way for you to track the progress of the switch booting up when connecting to Dell PowerConnect\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gntme.com\/product-category\/dell-switches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">switches<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Take note that the default IP address on the switch is 192.168.0.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The serial cable that is provided with the switch is called a null-modem cable.
