What Exactly Is 5G? The Must-Know Tech Taking Over the World!

I have seen people asking if the phone they buying supports 5G or not! But does anybody know what 5G exactly is? Of course, 5G is the latest one so it will be better than other Gs but do you know what are benefits of 5G are?

Today 4G mobile network is used around the world to make calls, send messages, and surf the web. And now there are plans for 4G to be replaced by… yes you guessed it right! 5G – a new fast network that has the potential to transform the internet.

The fifth-generation network that is 5G promises lightning-fast speed, barely noticeable latency (or communication response time), and vastly increased capacity.

5G wireless technology is meant to deliver higher multi-Gbps peak data speeds and it is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices.

Okay, so now the question arises… How?

5G is a software-defined network, we don’t say it will replace the wired communication entirely, but it could replace the need for them by largely working on the cloud instead.

This means we will have a hundred times better capacity than 4G which will dramatically improve internet speed. For example, to download a film, it will take 26 hrs for 3G, you will wait for 6 min on 4G, and for 5G you will be ready to watch your film in just 3 and a half seconds!

For the world which is the world that is increasingly dependent on the internet just to function reduction in time delay is critical. Where a 4G network requires a maximum of 50 milliseconds to respond, with 5G it will take around 1 millisecond which is 400 times faster than a blink of an eye.

There is no doubt that 5G is the future technology and will be the need of time over the next 15 years. But for today we can only say that 5G is in its embryonic stage, and technology is still not fully formed to adopt it.

A self-driving car in the future, for example… will require a continuous stream of data. The quicker and more information is delivered to autonomous vehicles, the better and safer they can run.

This is just one example of how 5G will become connective tissue for the Internet of Things… controlling not only robots but also medical devices, industrial equipment, and agricultural machinery.

5G will also provide a much more personalized web, allowing users to create their bespoke network. For example, an online gamer will need more response time and more data capacity than a user who just wants to check their social media.

While it is difficult to predict when everyone will have access to 5G, we are seeing great momentum in 5G launches in its first year and we expect more countries to launch their 5G networks by 2025 and beyond.
