HPE dl 380 recently released a new series of ProLiant rack servers, including the DL380 Gen10 Plus, DL385 Gen10 Plus, and DL360 Gen10 Plus. So, what distinguishes these new models from the previous series?

Let’s compare the HPE DL380 Gen10 Plus and DL380 Gen10. The main difference lies in the processors: the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus server uses 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Additionally, the DL380 Gen10 Plus features PCIe Gen4 capabilities, which offer faster data transfer rates and improved networking speeds.

You can use HPE DDR4 Smart Memory with several options. First, there’s 8.1 TB RDIMM available, providing 4 TB per processor. Additionally, you can choose 11.2 TB LRDIMM.

Moreover, Intel® Optane™ Memory offers 5.6 TB per processor when configured with 8x LRDIMM and 8x 512 GB Intel Optane. Each option enhances the performance and capacity of your system.

HPE Smart drives You can configure the system with 8 or 12 LFF SAS/SATA/SSD drives. Additionally, you have options for 8, 10, 16, 18, or 24 SFF SAS/SATA/SSD drives. Furthermore, the primary riser includes 2 M.2 SATA SSDs as standard.

For additional capacity, you can opt for an 8 SFF mid-tray or a 6 SFF rear-drive. Moreover, there’s a 4 LFF mid-tray and a 3 LFF rear-drive available as options. You can also choose between 2 SFF or 2 Dual UFF rear-drives. Lastly, for even more performance, there are 20 SFF NVMe options; however, please note that NVMe support via Express Bay will limit the maximum drive capacity, depending on the model.

SATA supports SFF dual flash adapters. Additionally, it accommodates 20 NVMe drives, 19 LFF, and 30 SFF drives.
