You may think that installing a security system is simply drilling holes and wiring cables. However, it’s much more complex than that. to apply for a security license! The CCTV at your home or workplace is not just a camera on the wall; it acts as an extra set of eyes protecting your valuable property. For effective security, your installer must have the right knowledge, expertise, and tools. Without this, those “eyes” could be vulnerable to hacking and misuse. To ensure your CCTV system is secure and reliable, Dubai’s regulatory authority, the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), has set strict standards.
What is SIRA?
SIRA stands for the Securities Industry Regulatory Authority, now known as the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (FINRA). Originally, it combined regulatory units from the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). SIRA oversees securities brokers and their dealings with the investing public. It ensures that members and affiliated markets follow best practices.
In Dubai, SIRA certification is crucial for CCTV installations. Certification ensures that the CCTV in your facility meets guidelines and uses the latest technology. Today, Dubai mandates SIRA-certified CCTVs for proper security surveillance, especially in building facilities. However, only a few businesses have implemented it.

If your organization needs a SIRA License, here’s a quick guide. There are two ways to apply for SIRA in Dubai:
