The smartwatch segment in India is no longer left behind, thanks to the multiple launches from brands like Apple and Samsung. The smartwatch segment is witnessing some sunshine, especially in recent times.
So how can OnePlus remain behind?
After years spent in the rumor mills, OnePlus has finally jumped into the fray now with its aptly named OnePlus Watch. Being popular for providing the topmost features at an affordable rate, the OnePlus watch is already expected a lot to offer for its asking price of AED 751.
Let’s dive straight into the aspects that work well for it, and also the ones that don’t.
First things first. As you expected OnePlus conforms to the brand’s ideology of premium, and the watch exudes class in terms of look and feel.
The watch has a classic, circular design, and the casing is made out of polished stainless steel with classic lugs that hold fluoroelastomer straps. It’s a kind of watch that you can work well both in the pub as well as the boardroom.
It’s a user-friendly watch with only two buttons on the right side of it, a function button at the top, and a power button below.
The AMOLED touchscreen used is also very responsive, and great in terms of colors, viewing angles, and sunlight legibility.
The watch has 4GB internal storage, out of which 2GB is available to use and it runs on a custom OS by OnePlus.
The app drawer is filled with all the essential apps that you need for your daily activities such as workouts, activity tracking, sleep tracking, heart rate monitor, stress monitor, blood oxygen sensor, alarms, timers, and so forth.
Unfortunately, the OnePlus Watch doesn’t include gym workouts for no reason so you cannot have the watch count your reps while you lift dumbbells or use one among the weight machines.
Dropping just about 35 percent over 4 days, if you use the watch at the default settings, it may last you the full two weeks. Also, OnePlus claims that the watch can charge to a week’s power with a 20-minute charge.
Still, if you compare it with Apple’s iWatch, the OnePlus Watch is a mediocre smartwatch. We talking about this because the watch doesn’t have support for third-party apps also the design is generic, there is no always-on display mode, and there are only a handful of watch faces available.
Despite its niggles, if you’re looking for a stylish smartwatch with good battery life and one that covers all the basics, the OnePlus Watch will be a worthy contender!
